Jen Clayton (Suffern, NY) long jumped a wind-legal 20-10.75 in the World Youth Champs in Italy this morning, equaling the NY State Record by Lynette Wigington ['97] and Keyon Soley ['98].

Clayton leapt 20-10.75 in the morning prelims on her first jump. She passed her 2nd and 3rd attempts. She will compete in the final Sunday as the top qualifier.

Stayed tuned to see how she fares on Sunday.

Clayton has dominated the competition on the east coast for the past year and a half. With a three way tie now in effect, Clayton will have her entire senior year to try and become the first ever NY state girl over 21 feet.

SUNDAY UPDATE: Clayton placed 3rd and earned a Bronze Medal with a leap of 19-10.25 into a -1.4 headwind on her 2nd jump.
